Free Chat App with Seen Ticks – Google Apps Script

A messaging app built on Google Sheets that behaves the way people expect a chat app to behave — ticks that turn blue when the message is read, a green dot when the other person is online, a timestamp on every line — with an admin layer underneath that most chat demos never bother with.

Messaging

Users sign up themselves with a username, password, email, phone, address and profile picture, and the app refuses a username already taken. Send a message and it shows one tick; when the recipient opens the conversation it becomes a double blue tick. Their avatar carries a green indicator when they are signed in and a red one when they are not, so you know before you type whether anyone is there.

Email in the loop

A new message also sends an email alert naming the sender, and logins are emailed too, so the app reaches people who are not sitting in the tab.

Control over who talks to whom

An account can be blocked from the admin side, and the next login tells that user plainly that their account has been blocked rather than failing silently. Beyond that, a restrictions sheet pairs a sender with a receiver to forbid that specific conversation — the app refuses the send and says so. Login and signup history is logged, and every user can edit their own profile, photo and online status.
