Your Apps Script web app, installed on a phone as a real Android app with its own icon. No app-builder subscription, no monthly fee for a wrapper service — Android Studio is free, and the project files here do the work.
Android Studio builds a small app whose job is to open your URL full-screen with no browser bar, so the web app looks and feels like an installed application. Because it is only a URL, it works with any link — an Apps Script web app, a PHP dashboard, a WordPress site, any page you own.
Three files are the whole project and all three come written: AndroidManifest.xml, the activity_main.xml layout, and main_activity.kt in Kotlin. You paste your URL, set the package name, and build. The walkthrough covers the package-name step properly because it is the one that trips people up — it is the permanent identity of the app and cannot be changed casually later.
Run it on the Android emulator first to see it exactly as a user will, then generate the release APK to share directly, install on staff phones, or take forward to a Play Store listing.
Wrapper services charge monthly and hold your app hostage on their account. This is your project, your keystore and your APK — built once, with no ongoing dependency on anyone.
