How to Build a Full HR & Payroll ERP with Google Apps Script and React | Salary Slip + Attendance

A full HR and payroll ERP on Google Sheets — employees, salary structures, attendance, leave, loans, tax and a payroll run that produces payslips in one action. Six roles, an employee self-service portal, and a configuration layer deep enough that most changes never touch the code.

The column manager

This is the feature that separates it from a fixed template. Your business needs one more field on the employee record. Normally that means opening the Apps Script editor and editing code, which is where mistakes happen. Here you open Settings, choose Column Manager, pick the module, name the field, choose its type — text, number, date, dropdown, yes/no, long text — say whether it is required, whether it shows in the table, and which of the six roles can see it. Save, and the column is live in the sheet and the interface.

Payroll that reflects real rules

Salary structures are assembled from pay heads as fixed amounts or percentage overrides, one-time or recurring, with effective-from and effective-to dates. Behind them sit the rules you configure yourself: income tax slabs with bands, rates and regime; exemption rules; provident fund rules; overtime rules with multiplier and calculation base; leave rules; and shifts with grace minutes and half-day hours. Process a period and it generates every payslip, printable to A4. Periods lock when finalised, and payroll tools run a pre-commit audit and compute arrears before you commit.
