Point a phone at a barcode and the item is in your spreadsheet. No scanner hardware, no inventory software licence — a web app that reads the code with the camera and appends the row.
The scanner runs in the browser using the device camera, with a proper permission prompt and a stop-scanning control rather than a camera that stays on. When scanning is awkward — a laptop without a webcam, a code on a screen, a photograph taken earlier — you can select an image of the code instead and it decodes the same way. Either route fills the form with the decoded value.
Around the scanned code sits the rest of the record: a product category dropdown built from your sheet, quantity, price and whatever else you add. Submit and the row is appended to the Data sheet. The sheet name is a single constant at the top of the script, so pointing it at a different tab is a one-line change.
The web app is served with its frame options opened, so the scanner drops into Blogger, WordPress or any page you can edit using an iframe. Staff reach it from your own site rather than a Google URL, and it works on a phone browser with nothing installed.
Goods-in at a warehouse, stocktaking, asset registration, event check-in, sample tracking — anywhere a code exists and someone is currently typing its number into a spreadsheet by hand. The source code is yours to extend into a larger inventory build.
