Free Class Attendance System with Email Alerts – Apps Script

An attendance portal for schools, colleges and academies where each teacher signs in, picks a class and marks it — and every student hears about it by email the same minute.

Teachers only see their own classes

Access is granted per teacher from the Login sheet: put a class sheet name against a teacher's row and that class appears in their dropdown; leave it out and they cannot reach it. One teacher can hold one class or twenty, and a teacher opening the portal sees a selector containing exactly their own sections and nothing else.

Marking and the email trail

The class loads as a student list with Present, Leave and Absent against each name, with running counts as you go. Submitting asks for confirmation, then writes the attendance to that class's sheet with the date and time, and sends every student an attendance confirmation email carrying their name, status, date and time. The dashboard then shows the class's attendance percentage across lectures.

The part administrators care about

Every absence and every leave is also appended to an Activity sheet — which teacher, which class, which student, when. That gives the school office a single place to check when a parent asks why their child was marked absent, and it means a leave granted verbally is on the record rather than in someone's memory.

Growing it

New classes are new sheets, new teachers are new rows, and a light and dark theme is built in. Nothing needs recoding to add a section.
