Free Passwordless Google Account Login – Apps Script

FREE008 solves the access problem without a login form. There is no username to invent, no password to forget and no reset flow to build. The web app simply reads the Google email of whoever opened it and checks that address against a sheet you control. On the list, the app opens. Not on the list, it does not.

How a visitor gets in

Someone opens the link while signed into their Google account. The script picks up their email, finds the matching row, and loads your page with a welcome message using the name you stored against them. Nothing was typed, and nothing can be shared — a password can be passed around, but a Google account cannot.

What happens to everybody else

A visitor whose email is not in the sheet does not get a dead end. They see a message explaining they do not have permission yet, with a form to submit their email and ask for access. That request lands in your sheet, so you end up with a list of who has tried to get in as well as who is already allowed. Approving someone is adding their row; revoking someone is deleting it, and their access is gone the next time the page refreshes.

Your own app behind the gate

What loads after the check is a page you write. The supplied index file holds a sample block you comment out and replace with your own content, so the identity check is done before a single line of your code runs.

Setting it up

Copy the sheet, then paste your spreadsheet ID and the sheet name into the marked places in the code. The screens use Bootstrap with a popup modal for the access request. Visitors need to be signed into a Google account for their email to be read.
