An invoice lookup system your customers can use themselves. They type a name or a mobile number, and every item they have ever bought comes back on one page with the total, what they have paid and what is still owed — ready to print as an A4 invoice.

Search that matches how customers identify themselves

There are two search modes: customer name and mobile number. A shop counter usually has one or the other, rarely an invoice number, and mobile number is the field most likely to be unique and correctly remembered. Either way the result is the same complete history.

The number that actually matters

The system returns three figures on every lookup: subtotal across all their items, payment received, and balance due. Update the payment received in the sheet and the balance recalculates on the next search. For a shop running on partial payments and running accounts, that single balance figure is the whole reason to have the system.

Print-ready invoices

One click produces a clean A4 invoice — the kind you can hand across a counter or attach to a message. The interface is built with Tailwind CSS, and the header and branding are editable directly in index.html, so the invoice carries your shop's name rather than a placeholder.

Self-service is the point

Because the portal is public, customers can look up and print their own invoice without anyone behind the counter stopping to do it for them. For a busy shop that removes a steady stream of small interruptions.

Setup

Copy the sheet, deploy the script as a web app, share the link. Google Sheets holds the invoice data — no server, no database, nothing to host. The video covers the build and the redeploy step for pushing edits live, and support is free if you get stuck.
