Free React Login System – Google Sheets Apps Script

Every project on this site starts here. Before the dashboard, the CRUD or the reports, something has to decide who is allowed in — and this is that piece, written properly, with a Google Sheet as the user table.

The full account lifecycle

Users register themselves, log in, and reset a forgotten password through an emailed OTP rather than a link you have to build a token system for. Sessions are managed so a login persists while the user works and ends when it should, instead of every page reload asking again.

Control that goes beyond a password

Two things most tutorial login systems leave out are here. Each account carries a status — approved or blocked — so a new signup can wait for your approval and a problem user is shut out without deleting them. And each account carries a validity period, so access expires on a date by itself. That is what turns a login into a licence, and it is exactly what a paid course, a member area or a client portal needs.

What it is built from

React components running inside Apps Script, a responsive HTML and CSS interface that works on a phone, and SweetAlert2 for the confirmations and errors — so the screens look like an application rather than a form dump. Google Sheets holds the users, which means you can read, edit, block or extend an account directly in the sheet when it is faster than opening the app.

Use it as a base

Most people take this as the authentication layer for their own project and build their screens behind it. The registration, OTP reset, session handling and status checks are the parts that are tedious to get right, and they are already done.
