Anyone who has tried to show a Google Drive image inside an Apps Script web app has met the same wall: the file is right there in Drive, the link looks correct, and the page renders a broken icon. B5 is the small, focused file that solves exactly that — upload an image and get back a URL that actually displays.
The form takes a picture from the visitor's device and, before it is stored, lets you set the name it will be saved under. That matters more than it sounds: a phone photo arrives called IMG_20240514_113207, and renaming it at the point of upload is the difference between a Drive folder you can search and one you cannot. It also asks who is uploading, so the file is attributable, and shows the file size with a confirmation step before anything is sent.
Once the file is in your Drive, the script produces the display URL for it in the form that still works today. Drop that URL into the page and the image renders — no broken icon, no thumbnail that expires. The walkthrough proves it by uploading a fresh image, taking the generated URL, pasting it into the code and reloading the web app.
This is a technique file, kept deliberately small: one image, one upload, one working URL. It is the piece you bolt into a bigger build — a student record with a photo, a product list with pictures, a repair job with a before and after shot. It is not a gallery or a bulk uploader.
Copy the project, point it at the Drive folder you want the images kept in, and deploy it as a web app. Everything it uploads stays in your own Drive.
