Not a to-do list — a record of how long work actually took. An employee logs what they have started, closes it when it is done, and the system works out the duration. Over a month that becomes the answer to "where does the time go".

Start it, finish it

Creating a task is a line of text and a start time. The entry is written with the employee's username and a timestamp, so it is on record the moment work begins rather than reconstructed at the end of the week. When the job is finished, the employee opens Update Task, picks it and sets the end time — and the duration is calculated from the two.

The dropdown that manages itself

This is the detail that makes it usable. The update list shows only that employee's tasks with no end time recorded — the unfinished ones. Close a task and it disappears from the list and turns up in the overview instead. Nobody scrolls through months of finished work to find today's, and an employee with five tasks, two done, sees exactly three.

Everyone's own record

Login is by username and password from the sheet, and each employee's view is filtered to their own rows. Their task overview shows what they have completed with start, end and duration on each. Meanwhile the sheet behind it accumulates every task from every employee — which is your record, filterable however you need it.
