Employee Task Management with Task Comments – Apps Script

Task management usually falls apart at the same place: the task is assigned, then the conversation about it happens somewhere else. This build keeps the discussion attached to the task — every task carries its own comment thread, so the context never scatters into email and chat.

Assign, track, discuss

Admins create tasks and assign them to team members. The assignee can start and pause their work, so the record shows real time spent rather than just a completion date. Comments sit under each task for questions and progress notes, and email notifications fire when a task is assigned or updated, which means nobody has to keep the app open to know something changed.

Two views of the workload

Admins see every task across the team and the dashboard stats — completed against pending — that tell them where things stand. Users see the tasks assigned to them and nothing else, which keeps the screen focused on what they actually have to do. Each person manages their own profile.

Small teams that find a shared spreadsheet too loose but a full project tool too heavy, agencies tracking work across several people, and managers who want to see progress without asking for it. It also works as a reference build for comment threads and email triggers in Apps Script.
