B4 is built for the search that returns a group, not a person. You type one code — a course number, a batch, a class — and every row carrying it comes back at once as a list you can read on screen or print. Behind it can sit a whole institution's data spread over several sheets; the search covers them all.

The list you print and fill in

The original use is an exam or attendance sheet. The portal returns the students on that course with their names, roll numbers and programme, and leaves the marks and signature columns empty on purpose, because those get filled in by hand on paper. Press Print Result and the whole list comes out ready to carry into a room.

If you would rather the numbers came from the data, they can. The walkthrough maps three extra columns — maximum marks, obtained marks and a grade or signature field — by pointing them at the column positions in the sheet, and the same search then returns a completed record instead of a blank form. It is the same app used two different ways.

Across sheets, not just one

A record living in a second sheet is found by the same search box. That matters when a year's data is split by class or by session rather than piled into one tab, which is what usually happens once a sheet gets large.

Where it can live

The layout is mobile friendly, so a phone shows the list properly rather than a squeezed table, and the deployed app embeds into a Blogger page or a Google Site through Insert and Embed by URL. Copy the sheet, open Apps Script — the code is already inside — and deploy.
