R18 | How to Generate / Create Reports from Google Sheet using Web Apps script

R18 is a report generator for anyone who pays other people from shared revenue — a distributor settling with artists, an agency reporting to clients, a marketplace paying sellers. You type an ID, choose which report you want, and it is built from the raw transaction data on the spot.

Six views of one dataset

Summary, products, platforms, artists, labels and countries. The same rows produce all of them, so the product breakdown and the country breakdown always agree with the summary — there is no second sheet to keep in step, which is exactly where reporting usually goes wrong.

The summary does the arithmetic

It returns gross volume, the number of transactions, the contract figure and the total tax, then the net payable — gross minus contract minus tax. That last number is the one the conversation is actually about, and it is calculated rather than typed, so it can be defended.

Breaking it down

The product report shows what each item earned. The platform report shows the same money split by service, with its own total. Countries shows where the business came from and the net revenue behind it. Artists and labels work the same way. Each view is a dropdown selection, not a different tool.

Sending it out

Print produces a clean copy, and Download PDF gives you the file to email. The person receiving it sees one document per report rather than a spreadsheet they have to interpret.

What changed in this version

The earlier build kept a separate sheet per report type. This one pulls everything from a single sheet, which is less to maintain and impossible to get out of sync.
