Free Student Result Portal with Email OTP – Apps Script

R8 puts two doors in front of a result instead of one. Before the student ever sees a lookup screen, a one-time code is emailed to them. Only after that code is verified do they get asked for their own ID and password. For a school where results are genuinely private, that is the difference between a portal and a guessing game.

How the OTP works

Pressing login sends a fresh code to the registered address and tells the student to check their email. Entering it correctly opens the dashboard and clears that code from the sheet, so it cannot be reused. Every attempt generates a new one — there is no standing code sitting in a column waiting to be found.

The second step

Past the code, the student enters their identifier and a password. The label on that field is yours: the walkthrough changes it from roll number to date of birth in a few seconds, so you can authenticate on whatever your school already holds. Wrong details return a login details not found message rather than an empty result.

Sessions that end

How long a verified session stays open is a setting in minutes. Set it short for a shared computer in a school library, longer where students are on their own devices.

The result

Name, roll number, class and section come through with the subject marks. Each subject is judged at thirty-three percent — below is a fail, above is a pass — and the totals are calculated, with nothing typed by hand.

Setting it up

Copy the sheet, paste your spreadsheet ID, run it once and authorise — twice, because sending mail needs its own permission. One line in the code controls whether the portal can be embedded in a website: keep it and it embeds in Blogger or your own site, remove it and it will not.
