A result portal where every student has their own login — and the system does the arithmetic. Marks go in the sheet; the total and the pass-or-fail verdict are worked out on the way to the screen.
Each student is issued an ID and a password held in the sheet, and only that pair opens their result. Wrong details are refused with a clear message telling them to contact the institution rather than a blank screen. Results are not public here: a roll number alone reveals nothing, which matters when the marks are poor and the student has a right to see them privately.
You enter subject marks. The script adds them. There is no total column to keep in step, no formula to drag down when a new student is added, and no risk of a total that no longer matches the subjects beside it — the classic failure of a marks spreadsheet maintained by hand over a term.
Each subject is judged against a passing threshold set in the code — the walkthrough uses 33 — and shows Pass or Fail accordingly. Change the number and every result re-evaluates. Institutions with a different passing mark do not need anything rewritten.
The login page is styled with Bootstrap, success and failure raise their own popups, and the result itself is laid out to print — so a student can take a copy away. Setup is a Sheet ID and a sheet name in the script, then deploy.
