Student Result Portal with Fee Defaulter Hold – Apps Script

R37 is the result portal built from what schools kept asking for. It searches on three things — roll number, class and exam type — and it will not show a result to a student whose fees are outstanding. That last part is the reason most schools want a portal like this in the first place.

The fee defaulter gate

Each student row carries a defaulter cell. Set it to Yes and the portal tells that student their result cannot be shown; set it back to No and the result appears. The cell is colour-coded in the sheet so the office can see at a glance who is being withheld, and releasing a result after a payment is one keystroke.

Mid term, final term, or your own

Exam type sits alongside class, so one portal covers every assessment of the year rather than a separate link per term. Adding your own — a monthly test, a mock — means putting the same keyword in the sheet and in the code. It is case sensitive and must match exactly, which is the single most common reason a new exam type returns nothing.

Subjects that follow the data

Only subjects with marks appear. Two subjects show two, twenty show twenty, and the totals, obtained marks and percentage follow. One rule matters: remove subjects from the end of the list, never from the start or the middle, or the positions shift and marks line up against the wrong subject names.

Marking rules you set

The pass mark is a value you change from forty to thirty-three or anything else. Grade bands are yours — ninety percent upward can be A+ or whatever letter your school uses. Even the result colours are editable by writing a colour name. Remarks are the one column you fill in yourself.

On paper

Printing produces a card with the school logo, name and address, a notes section, and signature boxes for the class teacher and the principal.
